Over 30 years ago, Dr. Campbell and his team at Cornell, in collaboration with researchers from the University of Oxford and the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine, conducted the most extensive study ever undertaken in this field. Their research involved surveying 6,500 people from 65 counties across rural China, examining their diets, lifestyles, and health outcomes.

About The Authors

Dr. Campbell is the Jacob Gould Schurman Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University and has authored more than 300 research papers. 

Thomas M. Campbell II, MD, co-founder and clinical director of the University of Rochester Program for Nutrition in Medicine, brings a clinical perspective to the research findings. He is a board-certified family physician and a graduate of Cornell University.
